Risqua serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Woodrock Energy Resources Limited, providing overall leadership and strategic direction for the company’s investments and operations across Nigeria’s power and energy value chain. In this role, he is responsible for shaping corporate strategy, driving growth initiatives, and building high-level partnerships that position Woodrock as a competitive and forward-looking energy enterprise in an increasingly complex marketplace. With over two decades of senior leadership experience, Risqua brings a strong background in strategy, business development, and investment advisory, having previously served as Executive Director, Marketing & Business Development at Asset Management Group (AMG). During his tenure, he played a central role in expanding the firm’s consulting and advisory capabilities and successfully led its entry into real estate advisory — a business line that evolved into the foundation of AMG’s operations and remains its most profitable division to date. This experience continues to inform his strategic approach to asset development, value creation, and long-term investment planning at Woodrock. Risqua also has extensive public-sector and international exposure. He was appointed by President Olusegun Obasanjo to serve in several strategic roles, including Special Assistant on International Relations and Special Assistant on Privatization, where he contributed to policy execution, stakeholder engagement, and economic reform initiatives at the national level. This experience provides him with deep insight into regulatory frameworks, government relations, and public-private collaboration — all critical to success in the energy sector. In addition to his corporate responsibilities, Risqua serves as a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Murtala Muhammed Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to leadership, service, and national development, founded on the ideals of his father, Late General Murtala Muhammed, former Head of State of Nigeria (1975–1976). Risqua holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Business from Cardiff Business School, University of Wales, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Banking & Finance from the University of Lagos.
